Purchased by The St. Clair Company in 2003, the 196-acre Hidden Canyon Specific Plan included 160 acres located in Laborde Canyon that was formerly approved in the mid 1990s by the city as the Gateway Specific Plan and 36 acres that were formerly part of a local Christmas tree farm. Nestled in a wide valley just south of the 60 Freeway, the specific plan takes advantage of existing topography to accentuate the outstanding views of the Beaumont Valley and local mountain ranges. The Hidden Canyon Specific Plan included up to 426 single-family homes with lot sizes ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 square feet. Amenities include a neighborhood park that will contain picnic areas, basketball courts and open play areas. Park amenities will be coordinated with the city’s planned pedestrian and biking trail network that will provide access to surrounding state and county owned natural open space. A Specific Plan and supporting environment documents have been completed and are currently being reviewed by the City of Beaumont. The St. Clair Company is also working closely with the City and surrounding land owners on the development of a comprehensive infrastructure financing plan using a Community Facilities District to extend roads and infrastructure from existing facilities located east of the property boundary.
The St. Clair Company has already established a reputation within the City of Beaumont for integrating quality elements in its residential developments with the recent completion of the Oak Valley Green master planned community, which has been well received by Beaumont residents.
