Newport Technology Center

Selected from a list of 20 of the most prominent commercial developers in the state, The St. Clair Company was narrowed-down as a finalist by the property owner, then selected and purchased this 13.69-acre industrial site in 1999. Formerly owned by the Raytheon Corporation, the property included the construction of over 400,000 square feet of research and development space. The project involved the partial demolition and remodel of an existing research and development complex in order to reconfigure the building pads and parking design to meet the current City of Newport Beach requirements as well as the regional industrial and office market demand.

The new campus-style development includes: four new or newly remodeled building designs by Irvine based architecture firm LPA, refurbishment and physical upgrades of a 900-space parking garage, development of tenant-oriented recreational facilities and extensively landscaped common areas.

Completed in 2002, the site was ultimately sold to Hoag Hospital in an exclusive location providing fiber optic access, ocean views and a campus style atmosphere.
