Strand Village

The Strand Village site is located at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Green Lantern Street in an area referred to in the City of Dana Point as the “Headlands”. This project will be part of The Strand master planned community which consists of 180 residential custom lots, a luxury hotel resort, retail commercial, office and over 30 acres of preserved natural and park areas that was approved by the City of Dana Point in 2004.

As part of the overall project approval, the City of Dana Point entered into a Development Agreement with the Master Developer that established the terms and conditions associated with the review and development of the site. The Headlands Development and Conservation Plan approval designated the overall land uses, as well as set the project zoning, standards, and guidelines that apply to the entire property including the Headlands Commercial parcel. The current 35,000 square foot mixed-use project design is currently being reviewed as part of the City’s Site Development Plan and Coastal Development Plan process. The current grading operation will result in a 1.6-acre development pad that will accommodate 35,000 square feet of commercial uses. The project will include specialty retail, restaurant, office and a surf hostel. All access and utilities for the site have been master planned and are currently being installed by the master developer of the Strand project.

Once completed, the Strand Village will act as the gateway to the City of Dana Point’s recently adopted Town Center Plan that aims to establish a pedestrian friendly commercial and hospitality district in and around the Dana Point Harbor.
